                                                                                                        Thirteenth, "Be the Di"
                                                                                        oil on canvas, 120 × 90cm, July 6, 2016

The Di was the one whose moral achievement was connected to the heaven and earth
in a humorous way. As Di was the most intelligent and capable man in the world,

the public people were willing to be guided and taught by him, and elected him to
be the top manager of their life. Before the Warring States Period, the title Di
was used to refer to those who had a great moral accomplishment and great merits.

Later, however, as the moral virtues were no longer as important as the social
status, the meaning of Di had been changed from the status of moral achievement

to a symbol of social status.
